At approximately 7:15 p.m. Monday evening, Trooper Michael Bucca and Trooper Jason Trout were on patrol near East Market Street in Brockton. A random query on a white GMC Sierra indicated that its inspection sticker had expired. The troopers conducted a motor vehicle stop and spoke to the operator, WILLIAM BROWN, 44, of East Bridgewater.

Further investigation revealed that BROWN was in possession of 14 individually wrapped bags containing a brown substance that appeared to be heroin.

BROWN was charged with possession of a Class A substance with intent to distribute, subsequent offense. He was also cited for not having an inspection sticker.

BROWN was transported to the State Police barracks in Middleboro for booking. He was expected to be arraigned this week at Brockton District Court.
