According to John John Llewellyn, Rockland’s chief of police, Brittney has struggled with substance abuse in the past. She has gone missing repeatedly in recent years, and police were able to get McCormack counseling and support services. Now she hasn’t been seen by her family since mid-summer.
Police believe that she is deceased but have continued searching for her.

In the last 10 days, police learned from an anonymous source via a third party that Brittney could be dead, and that her remains might be found in the wooded area near Center Avenue, behind a car wash.
On Wednesday, Dec 15, police from Rockland and Hanover searched the area with the help of Massachusetts State Police, including the agency’s cadaver dogs, search and rescue team, and one of its helicopters.
Police did not find Brittney, possibly due to conditions in the forest and the amount of time she has been missing. Police may have to return to the woods in the spring in order to find her.
Brittney lived in Brockton and Hanover, but she also often traveled to Rockland, Abington and Hull.
She is 5’3 and 150 pounds, with red hair (has also been blonde and brown in the past) and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a short sleeve t-shirt, shorts, green Army-style jacket, and sandals.
Both of her ears are pierced and she also has her nose pierced. She has a tattoo of a peace sign on her lower back, “dream on” inside her wrist, and a read heart with a tail on the back of her neck.
