The Schwartz Center for Children in Dartmouth is pleased to honor Craig Kauffmann with the 2011 Connie Mello Volunteer of the Year Award at the annual Volunteer Recognition Breakfast celebrated on December 12, 2011. The event took place in the Schwartz Center’s community room, with opening remarks delivered by the Reverend Robert Lawrence, followed by an inspiring speech by Mr. Stanley Goldstein of Dartmouth.

The Connie Mello Volunteer of the Year Award is given in recognition of leadership, generosity, and passion for helping the Schwartz Center for Children. Mr. Kauffmann, who was integral to the success of the inaugural 2011 Fishing for a Cause tournament, was a obvious choice to be this year’s recipient.

“Craig lent so much energy, countless hours of time, and a huge heart to helping to make this tournament a success” said Mary Hodgson, CEO of the Schwartz Center. “We could not have done it without him. He has become a dear friend of the Center through this event, and we are deeply grateful that he is now part of the Schwartz family”

Mr. Kauffmann’s Fishing for a Cause tournament duties include laying out the rules and regulations, maintaining scoring, and securing sponsorships, donations and prizes. Mr. Kauffmann is also the Consumer Marketing Program Coordinator with Dow Jones Local Media Group.
