PACE Head Start is Hiring! Come join our PACE team as a Family Advocate. ?
At PACE, we believe in empowering families and shaping futures. We’re looking for a passionate and dedicated individual who will join us in making a difference in the lives of the children and families in our Head Start program.
As a Family Advocate, you will recruit and enroll eligible children for Head Start services, engage families to support quality of family life and encourage parent involvement in their child’s education and school readiness. This role is crucial in facilitating positive relationships between our program, children, families, and community agencies.
Ideal candidates will have:
? An AA/BA in Social Services or a related field
? Experience working with diverse cultural backgrounds
? Sensitivity to the needs of families with low-income and knowledge of community resources
? Excellent communication, verbal and writing skills, and computer skills
? A driver’s license and access to a vehicle for transportation to home/agency visits
? Bilingual in Spanish
? Ability to pass CORI & DCF background checks and meet state/federal mandates.
Salary: $20.06 – $22.56/hour, 35 – 40 hours per week, 44 – 52 weeks per year, depending on funding and caseload assignments.

TEACHER

We are looking for candidates with a passion for working with children in an early learning environment with the following qualifications and skills:

• AA degree or CDA credential preferred. Experience in an early education and care setting or relevant human service setting;
• Nurturing and patient with children aged birth to 5 years;
• Must be comfortable communicating with families and co-workers in a professional manner;
• Assist with classroom management, daily routine and activities with children;
• Ability to work independently, yet function as a part of a team;
• Able to work with bi-cultural children and families; knowledgeable about child development, learning through play and developmentally appropriate practice;
• Bi-lingual desired;
• Must be able to pass CORI & DCF background checks.

*PACE Head Start Teachers are part of Local 1596 UAW (Union)

Head Start and Early Head Start provides family-centered development programming for over 264 income-eligible families with children from birth to age 5 living in the Greater New Bedford area.

LEAD TEACHER

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications and skills; a passion for working with children in an early learning environment.

• BA in Early Childhood Education or a related field required. EEC Lead Teacher qualified and experience in a pre-school classroom preferred;
• Nurturing and patient with children aged birth to 5 years, able to develop age appropriate lesson plans and implement engaging activities; familiarity with Early Childhood Assessments – preferably Teaching Strategies Gold;
• Oversee the daily classroom management, routine and activities, and support other classroom staff;
• Plan and implement activities and events to engage families in their child’s learning. Must be comfortable communicating with families, co-workers, and supervisors in a professional manner;
• Comfortable working with bi-cultural children and families as well as children of differing abilities; knowledgeable about child development, learning through play, developmentally appropriate practice and quality learning environments;
• Bi-lingual desired;
• Must be able to pass CORI & DCF background checks.
