“Global Learning Charter Public School (GLCPS) students recently created and held a fundraising effort to aid earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria.

Members of the Student Council and the Rainbow Royals Club teamed up to hold a fundraiser selling decorative Jibbitz for the popular shoes Crocs. They exceeded their fundraising goal of $300 bringing in $350.45.

“Our students are aware of what is happening globally and are committed to helping people in need,” said Dr. Stephen Furtado, Executive Director of GLCPS. “I am proud of these students for realizing a need and taking the initiative to create an innovative and successful fundraiser.”

GLCPS is a tuition-free public charter school serving 500 New Bedford students in Grades 5-12. Students are enrolled through a blind lottery. Additional information is available on the school’s website, www.glcps.org. For more information, please contact the school at (508) 991-4105.”
