New Bedford Woman Killed in New Year’s Eve Crash

On Thursday, December 31, 2020 at approximately 9:55 p.m., Dartmouth Police, along with other emergency personnel, responded to the area of 597 State Road, after receiving several calls that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle.

Upon arrival, officers confirmed that a female pedestrian, identified as Wendy TOLLEY, 56, of New Bedford, had been struck by a 2006 Toyota Prius, being operated by a 24 year old Dartmouth woman.

Though emergency care was rendered to TOLLEY, she died as a result of the injuries she incurred.

In conjunction with the subsequent investigation, a part of State Road was closed for several hours.

The crash is currently under investigation by members of the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit of Bristol County, Dartmouth Police Department Investigative Services Division, and the Dartmouth Police Department Crash Reconstruction Unit.

No arrest was made, and no further information and/or details regarding the crash is currently available.
