New Bedford woman arrested with $60,000 in heroin and cocaine, $70,000 in cash

New Bedford Police detectives seized cocaine and heroin with a street value of more than $60,000 and over $70,000 in cash, at 23 Tallman St. Apt. 9 Wednesday, April 4.

Detectives from the major crimes division went to the residence at 23 Tallman St. during a separate criminal investigation.

When they arrived at the home, they knocked on the door and observed narcotics being thrown from a window of one of the apartments. Detectives secured the scene and were granted a search warrant. They entered the residence where the narcotics had been discarded from.

A search of the residence yielded 650 grams of cocaine and heroin and over $70,000 in cash.

Ruth Aponte, 26, of 23 Tallman St. Apt. 9, New Bedford, will be charged with trafficking cocaine and trafficking heroin.
