“I would like to thank everyone who assisted in the rescue of this raccoon who was stuck over 40 feet up in a tree for 4 days.

Two towns came together in a wonderful collaboration to successfully bring him to safety. Thank you to Deb of Massachusetts Fish and Wildlife, Nick Vidmar of the Westport Animal Control, Manny Maciel, Shelley Martins (great job restraining him!) and Shaina Rock of the New Bedford Police Animal Control, Paul Lourenco (great job with the bucket to free him!) and Frank Napert of the Westport Highway Department who brought out the bucket truck.

I transported the raccoon to Cape Wildlife earlier today where he will receive a thorough examination and some much-needed rest. I will update his condition over the next few days.

A great effort by everyone and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Another precious life saved today ❤️!” –Roadside Wildlife Rehab, Inc..
