City of New Bedford to host rabies vaccinations and dog licensing event

“New Bedford Animal Control and the City Clerk’s Office are pleased to invite dog owners in New Bedford and surrounding communities to bring their pets in for inexpensive rabies vaccinations and/or dog licenses, from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 6, at two locations:

• South End: Hazelwood Park Senior Center on Brock Ave.
• North End: Brooklawn Park Senior Center on Acushnet Ave.

Rabies vaccinations will be provided by veterinary professionals for $15 per pet. In addition, City Clerk staff will be available to issue city dog licenses on-site.

VACCINATION FEE: $15 per pet

New Bedford Dog License fees:
• $10 per spayed /neutered dog
• $20 per non-spayed/neutered dog

All animals must be properly restrained, and owners must have proof of their pets’ last rabies vaccination. All dog licenses will be renewed annually. 2021 dog licenses expire Dec. 31.
