New Bedford Police Department arrests 2 juveniles, seize guns

“New Bedford police have seized two guns off the street which were found with juveniles within the same week.

On Monday, April 4, 2022, New Bedford police detectives observed a vehicle going north on Cedar Street and failing to use directionals when turning onto Willow Street. A traffic stop was conducted where officers observed a juvenile in the passenger seat and a silver firearm under the passenger seat with six rounds of ammunition inside.
 
The juvenile was charged with carrying a license without a firearm, carrying a firearm without a license loaded, firearm serial number defaced, and possession of ammunition without an FID card.

Previously mentioned, on April 3, officers responded to 225 Field Street for shots fired and were told three young men were in the Rural Cemetery when five gunshots went off. A juvenile was found and charged with carrying a firearm without a license, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, and possession of ammunition without an FID card.” -New Bedford Police Department.
