New Bedford police arrest two on fentanyl trafficking charges at 33 Sherman Street

On Wednesday, May 22, members of the New Bedford Police Department’s Narcotic Unit concluded an investigation into a fentanyl distribution service being operated from 33 Sherman Street in New Bedford.

A search warrant was executed at 33 Sherman Street and resulted in the discovery of over 24 grams of fentanyl, 191 suboxone film strips, 60 tabs of methadone, 31 tabs of clonazepam, and $689.00 in U.S. currency.

Arrested as part of this investigation were Nicholas Silva, 32, of 33 Sherman Street and Jillian Temple, 33, also of 33 Sherman Street. Both were charged with conspiracy to violate drug laws, trafficking more than 10 grams of fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute class B and A substance. Both are due to be arraigned at Third District Court in New Bedford.

The lead investigator in this case was Detective Kevin Barbosa.
