New Bedford Police arrest man with lengthy record for threats, assault

New Bedford Police arrested Jermaine Bryant Graham, 35, of Fairhaven, early Friday after receiving reports that he was threatening people with a firearm.

Graham was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and threatening to commit a crime after police responded to the area of Holly Street and North Front Street on a report of a man threatening victims with a firearm.

No injuries were reported and the weapon was later determined to be a pellet gun. The arrest was made at 12:25 a.m. Friday.

Graham has an extensive criminal record which includes 38 adult arraignments and 16 convictions for offenses such as home invasion, armed robbery, mayhem, dealing marijuana, threats and breaking and entering. Graham is currently on probation in Bristol County Superior Court.

Kessy Torres, 19, of 437 Cedar Grove St. Apt. 3E, New Bedford, was also arrested on four warrants as part of the investigation.
