New Bedford Police Department makes arrest in bus terminal stabbing

On Tuesday, September 7th at approximately 7:30pm, patrol units responded to a call for a man who had sustained a stab wound on the corner of Elm St./Pleasant St. Upon further investigation, it was learned that the victim had been involved in a fight with the suspect.

During the struggle, a knife was produced, and the victim was stabbed. The victim was transported to the hospital and has since been stabilized.

The suspect was later identified by detectives as a Mr. CHARLES PULLIAM, 47 with a last known address of 1272 Pleasant St. PULLIAM has been charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and mayhem. He has a lengthy criminal record with numerous prior convictions for violent crimes such as assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, robbery and resisting arrest.

The investigating officer is Det. Roberto Dacunha.
