New Bedford firefighters responded to a car fire at 100 Jouvette Street in the south end of New Bedford around 2am on Thursday. The fire was likely started around 1:30am.

While the timing is similar to the recent spike in suspicious fires in the north end of New Bedford, the location is not. At the time of this writing, neither New Bedford police or fire have confirmed if today’s fire is considered arson or if they think the fire is connected to the previous suspicious fires over the past few weeks.

New Bedford Police and Fire Departments are investigating at least six suspected fires since July 22, two of them late Tuesday.

Here’s a look at the suspicious fires since July 22.
