“How do we honor our fallen? We vow to fight every day to make a difference for the generations that come after us – to make a difference for kids like Nash, whose grandad Russell Horn was a New Bedford, MA firefighter for more than 30 years.

Russ died of cancer in 2020 and was honored at today’s Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial in the shadow of Pikes Peak in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Here’s Nash proudly wearing Russ’s cap at the Memorial.

We promise to make this dangerous calling as safe as possible…and we will never back down.” -Edward A. Kelly.

“A group of Local 841 members were at the IAFF Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial in Colorado Springs, Colorado to honor Brother Russell D Horn.

Brother Horn passed away from occupational cancer in January 2020. His name has been added to the memorial wall and will be read out loud with a flag presented to his family during the ceremony.” -New Bedford Firefighters IAFF Local 841.
