Engine 8 used their deckgun to quickly knock down the exterior fire extending to the roof while crews advanced with two hose lines. Crews from Ladder 4 provided roof ventilation and the fire was contained to the apartment of origin.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the NBFD Fire Investigation Unit. One male who was working in the building sustained burns and was taken by private auto to an area hospital.
The tenants were alerted of the fire by a working fire alarm system. The American Red Cross is assisting twelve displaced adults.” -New Bedford Fire Department.
