New Bedford Fire Department, Haz Mat, EMS, respond to fire at Brittany Global Technologies

“Earl Saturday at 11:34, the New Bedford Fire Department received a fire alarm activation at 1357 East Rodney French Blvd., Brittany Global Technologies.

While en route, Command Unit 2 reported heavy smoke in the area. Unit 1, Engines 6, 1, 7 and Ladders 3 and 1 were also dispatched and crews quickly deployed two hose lines to the second floor of this large 4 story structure and extinguished the fire involving a large section of exhaust piping used in their manufacturing process.

A search was conducted to confirm all occupants were out of the building and crews began ventilation operations to clear the building. The buildings sprinkler system was key in slowing the spread of fire until the arrival of the Fire Department.

NBPD, NB EMS, NB Haz Mat-1 and the DEP assisted at the incident. The cause is under investigation with New Bedford Fire Investigators.”-New Bedford Fire Department.

  1. Will the public in the immediate area be notified of the carcinogens and chemicals released to their homes, or is it going to be a big SECRET! PCB’s in the river didn’t exist for decades until the kidney failure death rates of citizens, living near the river, went unusually high! It was a reluctantly released big secret, by the manufacturers back then!
