NBHS Marching Band Received top honors at Quincy Christmas Parade

The New Bedford High School Whaler Marching Band received several top awards at the 63rd annual Quincy Christmas Parade held Sunday, November 29 in Quincy.

In recognition of their performance, the band and color guard received the Best Music award for their division. New Bedford was also the Division 3 Champion for the parade, and with an overall score of 93.9, NBHS’s marching band took home the Overall Best Band title as well.

“The Whalers were proud to represent our school and our community at this event,” said NBHS Marching Band director Eric Drew. “Congratulations to the band and color guard on this great accomplishment.”

“The marching band has shown that talent, hard work and determination are all part of being a Whaler,” said NBHS Headmaster Bernadette Coelho. “Over the Thanksgiving weekend, our football team, our color guard and our marching band had exciting victories and represented the dedication and pride of our New Bedford High School community.”
