National Weather Service issues Winter Storm Watch starting Monday

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch from Monday evening through Tuesday evening. For portions of northern Connecticut, western, central, eastern and southeastern Massachusetts, as well as all of Rhode Island. Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of around 6 to 12 inches, with localized amounts up to 18 inches, are possible.

Travel could be very difficult to near impossible, including during the morning commute on Tuesday. Damage to trees and power lines is possible as snow will be accompanied with strong to damaging winds, especially over southeast Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Significant reductions in visibility are possible.
