This summer, youth ages 13-15 will have the opportunity to explore various career paths in the National Park Service through the Youth Leadership Academy (YLA). New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park is pleased to announce this free summer program. Field experiences will include getting hands on with the effects of climate change at Cape Cod National Seashore, crafting an interpretive program at Roger Williams National Memorial, and experiencing mill life at Lowell National Historical Park.
The Youth Leadership Academy will also offer workshops on team building, financial literacy, public speaking, resume writing, creativity, leadership, and other important life skills. YLA sessions will take place Tuesdays (9 am- 5 pm) and Thursdays (10 am-2 pm) from July 5-August 25.
