Mattapoisett Fire Rescue saves second person in 3 days

“Firefighters rescue 2nd person in 3 days!

Last night Marine 1 was dispatched to assist Fairhaven locating a jet skier who was overdue.

Luckily, Mattapoisett residents in Antassawomock called and reported that they could hear someone yelling for help from the water. Marine 1 headed that direction and Rescue 1 was also dispatched to provide assistance from shore.

Marine 1 was able to locate the jet skier, who had been stranded out of fuel for 2 hours, just off Antassawomock. Marine 1 took the sole occupant on board and brought him into Mattapoisett Harbor.”
