“Today, Chief Murray, Capt. Dubois and Lt. Connelly pose with a thin red line flag which is traveling across the United States in honor of fallen Spring Valley Fire Department, NY 2nd Lieutenant Jared Lloyd.

2nd Lt. Lloyd lost his life in a structure fire at a nursing home with 112 non-ambulatory residents. 2nd Lt. Lloyd and his crew are responsible for several rescues before he was trapped on the 3rd floor attempting to continue rescue efforts.

The flag has been sent around by “Ruck for the Fallen” which is a non-profit organization that supports the families of first responders and veterans who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

Our members had the chance to sign the flag and then deliver it to another local department to continue its travels.”-Mattapoisett Fire Rescue.
