“We wanted to thank everyone that supported the 2024 Massachusetts State Police Saint Patrick’s Road Race Shirt. Due to your support $12,626.00 was recently donated to the Holyoke Homework house. https://homeworkhouseholyoke.org/

In 2013, Massachusetts State Police assigned in Troop B designed a Saint Patrick’s Day themed Massachusetts State Police shirt to sell to Troopers and their families to wear so they could represent the Massachusetts State Police as they ran in the Saint Patrick’s Road Race in the City of Holyoke. The Holyoke Saint Patrick’s Road Race is an annual event that draws upwards of 7000 registered runners each year. Each year numerous members of the Massachusetts State Police run this race.

The response to the Massachusetts State Police themed shirts was overwhelming and it was decided that it would be used to raise money for the Homework House in Holyoke. The Homework House was started by Sister Maureen Broughan and Sister Jane Morrissey of the Sisters of Saint Joseph with the dream of doing something for families impacted by poverty in Holyoke’s neighborhoods. The Homework House started in a Parish Rectory in the “Flats” section of Holyoke. The idea was to give young children from Holyoke a place to gather and complete their homework with the help of tutors.

Over the years the Massachusetts State Police family and friends, State Police Association of Massachusetts, Hampden County District Attorney’s office, New England Promotional Marketing and our fellow partners in the law enforcement community have sold thousands of shirts to benefit the Holyoke Homework House. Once again 2024 was a huge success!

Thank you everyone for all your support.”-Massachusetts State Police.
