At approximately 10:45pm on Thursday night, the Massachusetts State Police, New Bedford Police, New Bedford EMS, and the New Bedford Fire Department responded to a report of an accident on Route 18.
First responders arrived on Route 18 Southbound near the Weld Square exit to find a gray sedan with significant damage with one female occupant.
Preliminary investigation suggests that the car had rolled over an unknown amount of times and that speed may have been a factor. The female had sustained serious injuries and was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital with both a New Bedford Police Officer and a New Bedford Firefighter on board the ambulance with her to keep her stable.
