Today at approximately 11:20 a.m. Trooper Vincent Noe of the Massachusetts State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Section, along with Troopers from State Police-Boston, responded to a truck that struck the Silber Way footbridge on Storrow Drive eastbound in Boston.

The operator of the truck stated that he entered Storrow Drive eastbound from Boston University. He stated that he saw the signs that said “No Trucks” but was confused by it, so he continued driving. The truck was hauling bundles of hardwood flooring.

Trooper Noe conducted inspections of the truck and the driver, who was cited for failing to obey the “No Trucks” sign.

This was the third overheight truck that entered Storrow Drive this morning. The other two were removed and the operators cited.
