Massachusetts State Police Troopers at Troop F-Logan Airport assisted Troy, N.Y., Police this evening in arresting ANTWAUN TWITTY, 30, of Burlington, Vt., a suspect in a September homicide in Troy, N.Y. TWITTY was taken into custody as he stepped off Delta Flight 1526 from Los Angeles after its arrival at Terminal A at approximately 5:15 pm.
The arrest was made by MSP Troopers and Troy detectives who determined TWITTY was on the flight.
TWITTY was transported to State Police-Logan, where he was booked as a fugitive from justice. He will be arraigned tomorrow in East Boston District Court as a fugitive. Prosecutors will arrange his rendition to New York.
TWITTY, who is male, and a female co-defendant have been charged in the September 17 murder of Beyoncé Wint, 19, in Troy.
TROY, N.Y., POLICE DEPARTMENT RELEASE:
The Troy Police Department is reporting that two arrests have been made in the homicide case of 19-year-old Beyonce Wint. Ms. Wint fell victim to gunfire in the early morning hours of September 17th, 2019 in the area of 432 4th Avenue, Troy.
Troy Police Detectives have worked many long hours on this difficult and complex case. With the assistance of other law enforcement partners from Federal, State, County, the NYPD and the Massachusetts State Police – Troop F, two suspects have been taken into custody for the senseless and tragic death of this young life.
Earlier today, a cadre of detectives and partners traveled to New York City where they located and arrested Idelisse N. Armstead of Brooklyn. Armstead was transported by TPD Detectives to the Troy Police Station for processing and is currently lodged in the Rensselaer County Jail. She will appear in Rensselaer County Court at a later date. While that was occurring, Detectives and partners also traveled to Boston, Ma to locate and arrest the second suspect – Antwaun Twitty of Burlington, VT. Twitty was taken into custody at Logan International Airport and will be lodged in Massachusetts while awaiting extradition to New York.
The Troy Police Department wishes to thank the many law enforcement partners that have also logged many hours of work in helping to bring the killers of Beyonce Wint to justice.
