Local and Massachusetts Environmental Police arrest man for allegedly running over hunter

On the evening of Saturday, November 9, 2019, Officers from the Massachusetts Environmental Police assisted the Ashburnham Police Department with an investigation regarding a possible assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a hunter in their town.

The investigation showed that the suspect intentionally hit a hunter with an all-terrain vehicle while the hunter was lawfully hunting on private property.

Later that evening, Environmental Police Officers, including a K-9 unit, searched the area deep in the woods and recovered evidence pertaining to the investigation. The suspect was later interviewed and subsequently arrested by the Ashburnham Police.

The suspect was arraigned at Wichendon District Court for Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, Hunter Harassment, Negligent/Reckless Operation of a Recreational Vehicle, Operating a Recreational on Private Property without Written Landowner Permission, and Destruction of Property.
