Massachusetts Environmental Police cite person who shoots deer from inside his house

During archery season, an individual was found to have shot a deer from inside his house in Whately.

The subject utilized a driveway sensor positioned over bait in the backyard to be alerted of the animal’s presence, whereupon he illegally killed a 10-point buck with a rifle.

The case is to be heard in Greenfield District Court, charges include:

– Hunting Deer over bait;
– Illegal Killing of Deer;
– Illegal Possession of Deer;
– Use of Rifle during Archery Season;
– Possession of Untagged Deer;
– Discharge of a Rifle within 150’ of Roadway;
– Discharge of a Rifle within 500’ of Dwelling.
