A 27-year-old man is in stable condition at Rhode Island Hospital Tuesday after reporting being stabbed on Beetle Street Monday night.
The victim received three stab wounds in the back. He apparently knew the suspect.
A witness told police that two men ran toward the victim and fought with him outside a doorway on Beetle Street. He described one of the men as heavyset, wearing a backpack and blue sweatshirt. The second male was described only as smaller than the first.
He said they ran east to Belleville Avenue, then ran north.
The incident was reported at 8:53 p.m.
