Man arrested on heroin charges after failing to move over for emergency vehicle

On Monday at 12:10 a.m., Trooper Daniel Paras, of SP Shelburne Falls stopped a gray Dodge for failing to move over for an emergency vehicle in Greenfield. As a result of an investigation and subsequent search of the motor vehicle, 1150 packs of Heroin were located. Trooper Paras was assisted by Sergeant Sternfield and Trooper Murray.

The driver was issued a summons for unlicensed operation and failure to move over for an emergency vehicle. A licensed passenger took control of the vehicle.

One of the rear passengers, a 44-year-old Brattleboro VT man, was arrested and transported to the Shelburne Falls Barracks where he was booked. Bail was denied by the bail clerk. After booking, he was transported to the Greenfield House of Correction.

He was charged with the following offense:

  • Trafficking in Heroin
  • Possession of an open container of alcohol
