Man Arrested for Larceny, Illegally Attaching Plates

On Tuesday evening at approximately 4pm Officers Sasha Vicente and Jared Lucas were sent to the area of Crapo and Winsor St. regarding a male breaking into the property. Upon arrival they observed a large hole cut in the fence of the Don Adams property.

Inside of the fenced in area, the suspect was in the process of removing sections of sheet metal to his Chevrolet truck that was parked outside. He stated that he had permission from the owner to be on the property. However, when the owner arrived, he stated that he had never seen the suspect before and that he had no such permission.

The registration plates on the truck belonged on another vehicle. The suspect was placed under arrest and was arraigned this morning in New Bedford District Ct.

  • Attempt to commit a crime-Larceny over $250
  • Trespassing
  • Malicious destruction of property
  • Unregistered motor vehicle
  • Uninsured motor vehicle
  • Illegally attaching plates
