“Injured swan retrieved by firefighter Jason Kirby.
ACO David Frates contacted Lakeville Fire to request assistance with an injured swan on the Nemasket River, near Old Bridge St. ACO Frates stated that concerned residents had attempted to rescue the bird but were unable. He was concerned that someone would be injured attempting to help the swan.
The Fire Chief determined that the rescue could be made without any significant risk to responders. FF Kirby donned a water rescue suit and made the grab!
