On a frigid New Year’s Day morning, at least 144 partially crazy people took part in Fairhaven’s Polar Plunge from the beach at For Phoenix. New Bedford residents represented one of the strongest with at least 33 participants beaten only by Fairhaven. Here’s the official count per the organizers:
The organizers raised money for the Fairhaven Dollars for Scholars Polar Plunge Scholarships by selling long-sleeved t-shirts and to honor the memory of domestic violence victims.
