Homeless man found choking by worker dies from asphyxiation

A man was discovered having difficulty breathing at a section of the Hurricane Barrier near Cove Road at approximately 5:30am Tuesday morning. A worker came across the man who was living in a section of the barrier that is populated by local homeless and reports state that the man appeared to be choking on food that he was eating.

The unidentified homeless man had a medical tube inserted in his neck, and it is not known at this time if the difficulties breathing were related.

At this time police have not released the name of the deceased.
