INTERN COORDINATOR $35,584.12/yr
NEW BEDFORD POLICE DEPARTMENT

Recruits, trains and supervises interns from area colleges. Provides evaluations for interns, feedback to school advisors and maintains program schedule. Maintains statistics and reports for Domestic Violence Unit. Prepares quarterly reports as required by grant. Coordinates with civilian advocates in assessing victims through the restraining order process.

Bachelor’s Degree within the Criminal Justice Field or studies in Humanities. Excellent communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, reliable attendance, dependable/punctual, must have strong writing skills. Possession of valid Massachusetts driver’s license and good driving record. Subject to CORI (criminal offender record investigation) check.

Provides daily academic support to group of 10-15 children. Supervises daily activities such as physical fitness, arts and crafts, and more. Responsible for providing a safe place for kids to learn and have fun.

Must have a Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) check, mandatory by MGL Chapter 6 Sec. 172C.

Develops programming for children in the program with the PRB staff. Serves as a mentor and academic support supervisor for a group of 10-15 children. Provides daily academic support to group of 10-15 elementary age children. Supervises daily activities such as physical fitness, arts and crafts, and more. Responsible for providing a safe place for kids to learn and have fun. Maintains records as required including attendance and snack counts.

Must have a Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) check, mandatory by MGL Chapter 6 Sec. 172C.

DATA ENTRY CLERK (TEMP) $13.78-$19.91
PUBLIC INFRASTRUCTURE

Monitors and controls computer to process data entry requirements. Monitors and controls electronic computer to process business or other data according to operating instructions. Selects and loads input and output units with materials such as tapes or printout forms for operating runs. May control computer to provide input or output service for another computer under instructions from operator of that unit.

Operates on-line or off-line machines according to written or oral instructions to transfer data from one form to another, print output and read data into and out of computer. Participates in technical projects. Recommends changes in programs, routines and quality control standards. Prepares for review records and reports of operating and down time; operates computers to assist in locating and overcoming error conditions. Develops operating methods to process data; assists in the development of useful computer programs. Keypunches and edits; assists general public, office staff and City employees.

Graduation from a high school or GED equivalent with specialized course work in computer operations. Ability to perform arithmetic computations accurately and quickly; ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; ability to work under pressure and/or frequent interruptions. Knowledge of personal computers and various programs. Mandatory CORI (Criminal Offender Record Investigation) background check per City Council Ordinance effective May 14, 2013.
