“At approximately 12:30pm on Thursday, Granby Fire personnel along with Police were dispatched to the area of McDonald Avenue for a person stuck in swampland.

Granby firefighters and police quickly located and assisted the victim to dry land via a throw rope. At that time the victim informed rescuers that a dog was also in distress in an unknown location within the same swamp.

After attempting to identify where the dog was located a rescuer was sent out in a water rescue suit while tethered to search for the dog which was ultimately located and rescued.

Great job by all responders of the Granby Fire and Police Departments.”-Granby MA Fire Department.
