Early Monday the Federal Bureau of Investigation was spotted conducting “court-authorized activity” at a New Bedford store.
Agents could be seen coming in and out of Botanica La Madama located at 1707 Acushnet Avenue as their search was underway.
The store offers a variety of spiritual products including “soaps and perfumes, colognes, pheromones for the attraction of both men and women, herbs for baths, images, reversible candles, incense for spiritual cleansing and household spoilage, esoteric materials for loved ones and to ward off the enemy, oils, powders, among others.”
When asked for more detail, an FBI spokesperson was tight-lipped, “I can confirm the FBI was conducting court-authorized activity at a location on Acushnet Avenue in New Bedford earlier today. To protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation, we’re going to decline further comment at this time.”
Eyewitnesses on scene said that no one was seen being arrested or leaving the store in handcuffs.
