Fairhaven Santander Bank robbed, police searching for suspect

Fairhaven Police responded to a bank robbery that was reported at the Santander Bank branch, located at 125 Huttleston Avenue just after 4:30 Wednesday afternoon. Officers were informed a white male in his mid 20’s entered the bank and appeared to be talking on a cell phone. When he approached the teller, he passed a note demanding money. The note also claimed the robber was armed with a gun.

The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of cash and the suspect left the bank without brandishing a firearm. It is believed the suspect fled in a vehicle in an unknown direction, based on a witness statement. The robber is described as being unshaven, in his mid 20’s, with brown hair. He was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, gloves, blue jeans, a red sox ball cap and large sunglasses.

Bank security pictures are available. If anyone can identify the suspect in the pictures, or if anyone can provide further information about this case, they are encouraged to contact Fairhaven Police Detectives at 508-997-7421. Callers can remain anonymous.
