Mr. Emu on the lame was captured by Ronnie Frates at Lakeville Animal Control on Saturday, Sept. 9. A job well done! The emu was unharmed and there were no injuries during the capture.

“As some Lakeville residents are aware there was a Emu on the loose in the Lang St- County Rd. area.

As it has been sited in numerous areas it is harder to pinpoint one area to catch it. I have a man who is experienced at catching Emus willing to help but we need to find where it hangs out the most.

The person who owned it moved out of state, so it has no home to return which will make it harder to catch.

Please leave any comments of any sightings in the comments below or leave a voice message at the shelter at 508-947-3891

Thank you!”-David Frates, Lakeville A.C.O.
