Elizabeth Warren to visit New Bedford to speak on climate change and natural disasters

Elizabeth Warren will be making her way over to New Bedford to discuss “how the funding she helped secure is ensuring the Port of New Bedford is protected from future impacts of natural disasters and climate change.”

Her office sent out this press release in regards to her activity for Wednesday, August 2nd:

On Wednesday, August 2nd, U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) will visit Quincy and New Bedford. In Quincy, she will tour the Yawkey Housing Resource Center, ahead of its opening this Fall, to discuss their innovative development and the additional housing resources it will bring to the South Shore.

Warren will then visit the New Bedford Port Authority to discuss how the funding she helped secure is ensuring the Port of New Bedford is protected from future impacts of natural disasters and climate change. Senator Warren will be accompanied by local leaders to view the progress of these federally-funded projects.

Warren’s last appearance in New Bedford was in May touting $400 million in new federal funding for electric school buses. We will be giving video coverage of Wednesday’s press event in New Bedford on our Facebook and Instagram page, the event is scheduled for 2:45pm.
