Mr. Moultrie lives with his girlfriend and child at 138 Rotch Street in New Bedford. His brother, sister-in-law and a total of three small children were at home during the incident.

According to the police report and Mr. Moultrie himself, the man attempted access to the house three times claiming to live at the home. Mr. Moultrie states he did not strike the man but used the swing as a warning.

According to Mr. Moultrie, the police responded very quickly and interviewed the man. Mr. Moultrie submitted photos to us showing damage to the front door although the police report states Mr. Moultrie claimed no damage to the property. Mr. Moultrie states that the report is inaccurate and he is submitting a supplemental report with the photos to the police today.

According to New Bedford Police, the man was bleeding from the head, seemed confused and was sent to St. Luke’s Hospital for evaluation. Police report that the man lives a block away from Moultrie’s residence and a family member of the elderly man stated to investigators that he has had recent memory and confusion issues.
