On Saturday, June 26, 2021 from 10:00am-12:00pm My Brother’s Keeper will be hosting a Pop Your Trunk Spring Collection Drive for new sets of bed linens and towels.

This collection drive will support the organization’s core charitable program of 33 years: furniture assistance. My Brother’s Keeper can provide anything needed to furnish a bare apartment: beds, cribs, dressers, refrigerators, kitchen tables and chairs, and living room furniture, as well as household items like bed linens and towels. All items are delivered free of charge—a critical service for residents without transportation, the elderly and disabled.

Since the start of the pandemic, My Brother’s Keeper has continued its Furniture and Christmas Assistance Programs, and significantly expanded its Food Assistance Program. The organization has more than tripled its number of annual food deliveries, while increasing the average retail value of a delivery to $200. As a result, My Brother’s Keeper has completed over 25,000 deliveries of these three critical services since March 2020 – a historic pace for the organization.

Demand for assistance in our community remains extremely strong so the Summer Collection Drive will help My Brother’s Keeper provide as much assistance to families as possible. The June 26th drive is one in a series with this one focusing on collecting household items such as: bed sheets (twin, full, queen), comforters, blankets, pillows, pillow cases, bath towels, and face towels.

Future drives will be held on October 9th (canned food items) and November 13th (new toys for the Christmas program).

My Brother’s Keeper regularly purchases new beds and other essential furniture for these deliveries, so another way to support the Furniture Assistance Program is by making a financial donation online. Visit www.mybrotherskeeper.org for details. My Brother’s Keeper does not receive any local, state or federal funding, and relies on private donations to serve the community.
