Dartmouth And Westport Police arrest Westport man after narcotics investigation

“On Friday, July 23, 2021, Dartmouth Police detectives, with the assistance of a Westport Police detective, arrested John OLIVEIRA, 61, of Sodom Road, Westport.

The arrest was in conjunction with a narcotics investigation, and it took place at the Dartmouth Motor Inn.

As a result of the arrest, approximately 5.5 grams of suspected cocaine, 4.8 grams of suspected crack cocaine, and several pills, believed to be Oxycodone, were seized. In addition, $1,059 in cash was also seized.

Prior to his arrest, OLIVEIRA allegedly attempted to elude the police in his vehicle.

After crashing the vehicle, OLIVEIRA fled on foot, but was quickly apprehended by Dartmouth Police Detective Matthew CORREIA.

During a subsequent search of the area where OLIVEIRA was subdued, Dartmouth Police K-9 Officer Jared White, and his partner, Tyr, located suspected narcotics.

OLIVEIRA was charged with three (3) counts of possession with intent to distribute a Class B drug, one (1) count of possession with intent to distribute Class B (subsequent offense), resisting arrest, failure to stop for police, and reckless operation of a motor vehicle.”
