Tomorrow (Thursday, December 12), from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., a private contractor for the City of New Bedford will install lights and signals at the intersection of Acushnet Avenue and Sawyer Street. During the installation, the intersection will be closed to vehicular traffic. Motorists are advised to plan accordingly and follow posted detour signs. The completion of all major project elements for the road work being done in the Acushnet Avenue/Sawyer Street area is expected by the end of the week.
