“Boston Police Commissioner William Gross announced that he is retiring from his position atop the nation’s oldest police force.
Massachusetts State Police Colonel Christopher Mason released the following statement:
“On behalf of the Massachusetts State Police, I congratulate Commissioner Gross on his retirement and wish him the very best in his future endeavors.
Commissioner Gross’ leadership and inspiration to the law enforcement community will be sorely missed but never forgotten. He has set a fine example of what selfless, genuine public service looks like, and has paved the way for many others to follow.
I will be eternally grateful for his friendship, wise counsel, and partnership. I look forward to working with Commissioner White and to continuing to build upon the strong ties that the MSP and BPD enjoy. Thank you Willie.”-Massachusetts State Police.
