Bishop Stang continues its tradition of excellence, with a Science Department that has prepared generations of young people for higher education and inspired many to choose science-based careers. The curriculum continues to be engaging and challenging; many students complete more than the required number of Science courses; and AP scores far outpace State, National and Global scores.
And now students will enjoy cutting edge, world class facilities in which to conduct labs and prepare for college in the completely renovated Biology and Chemistry labs. With the support of “Catalyst” donors – including alumni, parents of alumni, current parents, and community partners, the project was able to be completed this summer.
Thanks to the generous support of the Lafrance Family, the Biology lab has been named In Memory of Rita P. Lafrance. “Our family is proud to sponsor the Bishop Stang High School Science Lab initiative and honored that the Biology Lab will be named ‘In Memory of Rita P. Lafrance.’ My mom was always focused on helping others and seeking best solutions for the future. She would be very pleased with this recognition,” shared Richard Lafrance.
It is today’s students who will be making the decisions that will affect themselves, those around them and the planet on which we live, and Bishop Stang is proud to prepare these innovators of tomorrow… today!
