Bishop Stang High School is pleased to announce the hiring of Nneka Pawlowski for the position of Head Softball Coach. Pawlowski has been working in the community as a Correctional Officer for the Massachusetts Department of Corrections since 2012, receiving the Community Service Award in 2017, and has maintained her impact in the region in many ways since her time attending Brockton High School.

Pawlowski graduated from Brockton High School in 2001, where she was named to the Boston Herald All-Scholastic Team. Her impressive high school career provided her the opportunity to play NCAA Division I softball for the University of Maryland, from 2001-2005. While there, Pawlowski was twice named to the University of Maryland’s Intercollegiate Athletics Scholar Athlete Honor Roll, in 2002 and 2003. Since the conclusion of her playing days, Pawlowski has been heavily involved in coaching. Most recently she has coached softball and volleyball for Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School in Easton, MA, and she has assisted her former high school coach in the Softball program at Wellesley High School.

Bishop Stang Athletic Director Dennis Golden remarked “We are excited to have Nneka Pawlowski join our Bishop Stang community. We believe that she will bring a great deal of softball knowledge and enthusiasm to the young people in our program. Most importantly, Nneka will set an outstanding personal example for them to follow. We are thrilled to have her here.”

Nneka Pawlowski brings a unique set of professional, playing, and life experiences to the table. When asked about her feelings about leading a historically talented Bishop Stang softball program, Pawlowski said “I am honored and overwhelmingly excited for the opportunity to coach at Bishop Stang. My hope is to share my experiences as a player, and to help mold well-rounded student-athletes.”
