Steve Pemberton, along with former guardian John Sykes, will be providing New Bedford with two free showings of the movie ‘A Chance in the World.’ on Sunday, August 6 at 3pm and 6pm. Doors will open 30 minutes prior to each screening.
No tickets or reservations required, but donations to A Chance in the World Foundation are being accepted here (http://conta.cc/2vE67OU). All proceeds will go to the New Bedford Boys & Girls Club, Nativity Preparatory School and the Upward Bound Program.

“About a kid that grew up in an extremely abusive foster care home in New Bedford in the late 70’s – early 80’s. He graduated from New Bedford High in 1985. I had the pleasure of knowing him in throughout his days in Elementary School (Ellen R Hathaway) also in New Bedford. He spent his entire childhood trying to convince the powers to be, to remove him from the abusive home.
He first released a book (A Chance in The World) and now the movie. He currently serves as Chief Diversity Officer and Divisional Vice President for Walgreens.” – Frank Perry
