22-year old Maynard woman killed crashing into woods

Saturday morning at about 3:45 a.m., State Police from the Leominster barracks responded to a single-vehicle crash on Route 2 westbound in Lancaster which resulted in one fatality.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper Cameron Ortiz indicates that a 2008 Toyota Camry was traveling on Route 2 westbound when, for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle traveled off the roadway and into the wood line, before becoming fully engulfed in flames.

The operator and sole occupant, 22-year-old Katherine Lalli of Maynard, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

This crash remains under investigation with assistance from the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and Crime Scene Services Section. State Police were assisted on scene by Lancaster Fire and EMS as well as MassDOT.
