The New Bedford Memorial Day Parade will take place on Monday, May 26, 2014. This year’s parade is being put together in a joint effort between the Greater New Bedford Veterans Council, the New Bedford Veterans’ Advisory Board as well as the Veterans’ Services Department.

The parade will form at the intersection of Hathaway Blvd. and Parker Street beginning around 11:00AM and stepping off at 11:30AM. The parade will march East on Parker Street to County Street. The parade will then turn left and head North on County Street. The parade will turn right heading East on Pope Street, where it will take its final right turn into Clasky Common Park past the reviewing stand which will be located on the right.

There will be a Memorial Day service held at the reviewing stand at the conclusion of the parade and we encourage all participants to stay and take part in the service. This year’s service will include the reading of the Gettysburg Address, Logan’s Orders and roll call of some of New Bedford’s Veterans who have passed away.

If you plan on marching in this year’s parade please RSVP by calling the New Bedford Veterans’ Services Department at 508-991-6184 or send an email to cgomes@newbedford-ma.gov.
